Black Echo

Installation at MIT List Visual Arts Center, Cambridge. Photography: Peter Harris Studio

Black Echo focuses on an object that seems both natural and manufactured and what appears to be a volcanic rock’s cut surface resembles the slick screen of an iPhone. In an age in which no molecule is unaffected by humans, boundaries between nature and technology become blurred at both molecular and conceptual levels. Black Echo proposes an interaction that is at once one of care and remains at a remove.
